PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE

How can I help?

I am a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the areas of Clinical, Forensic, and School Psychology. My primary area of practice is in psychological assessments.

Supporting your understanding

Life is full of uncertainties. Comprehensive psychological assessments can answer key questions about learning, development, and mental health. I offer psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults to help you gain a better understanding of your unique strengths and needs. Through assessments, I can help you find answers to your questions about learning and emotional problems, developmental disabilities, ADHD, and giftedness.

Strengths-focused and energetic

Each individual possesses their own unique strengths and gifts. My work aims to highlight these strengths and harness their potential. I support individuals by helping them recognize their strengths and equip them with the understanding and skills they need to succeed. As a school mental health professional, I work to support parents as well as educators to provide effective interventions and supports to allow your child or teen to be their best selves at home and at school. I also provide parent consultation to help parents understand their child’s diagnoses and develop tools for promoting their child’s health, development, and success.

Collaborative and culturally sensitive

My goal is to help children and adolescents reach their full potential. I do this by using a collaborative approach that focuses on each individual’s specific needs and goals. I draw upon my training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and brief intervention methods. I employ culturally-sensitive practices that acknowledge the unique experiences and perspectives of diverse individuals in supporting learning and mental health.

My experiences

I received my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. I worked in Forensic Psychology with adults before transitioning to school-based practice with children and youth. Since 2005, I have provided psychological services within the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), offering psychological assessment, short-term psychotherapy, and crisis response support.

I work full-time as the Mental Health Lead at the YCDSB, where I lead a team of mental health professionals in supporting children, youth, and school mental health and well-being.
