CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

You are the expert of your own life.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I provide treatment to adolescents and adults in English and Farsi.

Unconditional support

I am glad that you are here and I want to work with you to help you live your most authentic life. My approach to therapy is collaborative and creating a safe and open relationship with you is my top priority. I see you as the expert in your own life. We are a team. I will be there with you every step of the way to provide you with guidance and support. I will listen to you and respond with warmth and unconditional positive regard while gently challenging you to reach your goals. Together, we will decide what to keep, what to change, and what to throw away.

Values-driven

Your culture and spirituality may play a large role in your life. I see you as a whole person made up of many important parts. As a first-generation Canadian, I recognize the many ways in which culture influences our way of being. In our work together, I will aim to understand your core values and beliefs. Together, we will work to put these values into practice so that you can live a value-driven life that feels authentic and true to who you are. I encourage you to bring your culture into our work together. I provide services in English and Farsi and I invite you to communicate in a way that feels comfortable to you.

Warm and supportive

I have worked in the mental health field as a clinical social worker for over a decade. My experiences have focused largely on supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. I am also very well versed in supporting individuals to challenge anxiety and depression as well as move forward in their lives following significant trauma. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in my work.

I have a passion for supporting individuals through difficult transitions. I work to help you feel safe as you navigate the new feelings, thoughts, and behaviours that can arise when life throws you a lemon.

My background

I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Toronto with a focus in clinical mental health. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient programs in mental health hospitals for over a decade. I am a life-long learner and I have committed my practice to learning progressive treatment methods that will truly help you reach your goals. I have extensive training in evidence-based psychotherapy and I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
